Privacy Policy

The short version
- We collect your email address and the entries you write — nothing more.
- No ads, no analytics, no trackers, and we never sell your data.
- Insights are computed on your device, not on our servers.
- You can export everything or delete your account (and all your data) anytime, right in the app.
Who we are
Simply Kind is a daily intention and reflection app made by Michelle Hardi, a sole trader based in Melbourne, Australia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the Simply Kind app collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions any time: hello@michellehardi.com.
What we collect
Your account
- Email address — used to sign you in with a one-time code. There are no passwords.
- First name (optional) — only if you choose to add one, so the app can greet you.
- Timezone and reminder preferences— so your “day” starts and ends at the right time for you.
- Subscription status — whether your account is on the free plan or Simply Kind Plus.
Your entries
The heart of the app is what you write: daily intentions, evening reflections, gratitude notes, a mood rating from 1 to 5, and monthly reflections. We know this can be deeply personal, and we treat it that way: your entries are used solely to show your own history and insights back to you. They are never used for advertising, never sold, never shared, and never used to train AI models.
What we don't collect
No location, no contacts, no photos, no camera or microphone access, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party analytics or crash trackers. The Stack Me feature reads your phone's tilt (accelerometer) purely to move pebbles on screen — that motion data is never stored or sent anywhere.
Where your data lives
Your account and entries are stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, encrypted in transit. Access controls ensure only your signed-in account can read your rows. On your device, the app keeps your sign-in session in secure storage and remembers small preferences like your theme choice. Insights — mood trends, streaks, gratitude themes — are computed on your device from your own entries.
Services we rely on
We use a small number of service providers, each receiving only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — sign-in and secure storage of your account and entries.
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions. It receives your account ID and purchase status, never your entries.
- Resend — delivers your one-time sign-in code to your email address.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — process payments. We never see your card details.
We do not share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and entries until you delete them. The free plan limits how far back you can view (your last seven days), but your older entries are kept safely so that upgrading to Plus brings your full history back. Deleting your account removes everything, regardless of plan.
Your controls
- Export— Settings → “Export my data” gives you a file with your profile and entries.
- Delete— Settings → “Delete account” permanently erases your account and every entry. This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're in the EU, UK, or another region with similar laws, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability — the in-app export and delete tools cover most of these, and we'll help with the rest by email. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to us first, or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Children
Simply Kind is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Simply Kind handles your data — for example, if a future feature processes entries on a server to offer richer insights — we'll update this policy, change the date at the top, and let you know in the app before it applies to you.
