Delete your account

Delete in the app (fastest)

Simply Kind is made by Michelle Hardi (sole trader, Melbourne, Australia). To delete your Simply Kind account and all data associated with it:

• Open Simply Kind and sign in.
• Go to the Settings tab.
• Tap “Delete account” and confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you'd like a copy of your entries first, use Settings → “Export my data” before deleting.

If you can't access the app anymore, email hello@michellehardi.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm and complete the deletion within 7 days.

What gets deleted

All of this is erased from our database, permanently:

• Your account and profile: email address, name, timezone, and reminder preferences.
• Every entry you've written: intentions, reflections, gratitude notes, mood ratings, and monthly reflections.
• Saved quotes, calm ritual counts, and the AI summaries written for you.

Deletion is immediate, and applies whether you're on the free plan or Simply Kind Plus. One small thing lingers: a counter that limits how many AI summaries an account can ask for in a day. It holds an account ID, a date and a number, none of your words, and it is usually cleared within three days.

What we can't delete for you

• Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel a Simply Kind Plus subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, ideally before deleting your account.
• Payment records: Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their policies. RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions for us, keeps its record under an account ID. We never send RevenueCat your name, email or entries, and we never see your card details.
• Entries already sent for an AI summary: entries sent to Anthropic in the last 30 days stay in its systems until it deletes them. Anthropic says that happens within 30 days. It can keep them longer if its safety systems flag them as breaking its usage policy (up to two years), or if the law requires it.
• What's on your phone: the app keeps a few things on the phone itself, such as your theme choice, the most recent AI summaries it showed you (which can quote your entries) and, if you used Export, the last export file. Deleting your account signs you out but leaves these in place. Removing Simply Kind from your phone clears them.
• Backups: our database provider, Supabase, keeps a daily backup for seven days. A deleted account drops out of the backups as they expire, so the last copy is gone a week after you delete.
• Routine logs: our providers keep technical logs, such as Supabase's record of sign-ins (which includes your IP address) and Resend's record of sign-in emails. These follow their schedules, not ours.
